Subtitler:Export Digital Cinema Distribution Master
Important: Due to stronger specifications, use only the latest open source built of Subtitler to export these files. The older versions will not play in some theatres because of the namespace declaration conflict (EasyDCP error: Element ID should be qualified). (For the technical explication see http://dcinemaforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=318.0 )
This format exports a subtitle track as XML file according to the SMPTE 428-7-2007 standard. This file can be added to a Digital Cinema Distribution Master (DCDM).
Note that you need some manual work after exporting. You can edit the XML file in a text editor.
- Take care of the filename, it will be used for the Title
- The Reel Number is always 1
- The Start Time is always 00:00:00:00
- The language is always english
- We use the actual font name in the font ID tag. If you want to use an UUID, create one in the Terminal and rename the font and change the text manually in the XML file. Then place the font in the same folder as the subtitle file. The font must be OpenType
We took care to translate as much as possible the style you set in Subtitler to the format possibilities in the export format.
Note: The format would also allow to use PNG files and reference to them. We may support that on a later state.
